We constantly strive to be better – not bigger. With a combined 20 years of industry experience, Brax Building is on a mission to raise the bar and provide a second-to-none home design and build service.

Headed up by Alex Carruthers and Bryce Mallon, the Brax Building team is made up of five full-time employees and a close-knit network of dedicated, highly skilled tradespeople, designers, architects and engineers.

Our Team

Alex Carruthers

Alex was raised near the remote outback village of Wanaaring, more than 500km west of Dubbo. He made the move to Dubbo in 2009 after finishing his secondary schooling in Forbes. Calm and collected, he’s the man you’ll want on the job for your next home build or extension, with a conscientious tact that means he won’t settle for anything less than extraordinary.

With 14 years of industry experience under his belt (and counting), Alex is in his element bringing exciting new projects to life, and collating all the separate ‘puzzle pieces’ that make up a build.

If Alex is in charge, there’ll be no job left unfinished – it’s his attention to detail, dependability and steadfast future focus that clients love. When he’s not putting in the hard yards onsite or in the office, you’ll find Alex on the golf course or relaxing with his mates.

Bryce Mallon

With a farming upbringing just outside of Quambone, Bryce is no stranger to the western region and its people. Following the completion of his secondary schooling in Bathurst, he relocated to Dubbo to pursue a career in construction. More than a decade later in the same regional centre, and his commitment to his craft remains unwavering.

Bryce values punctuality and reliability, so you can rest assured you’ll be able to reach him when you need him most. His favourite stage of the building process is seeing his clients set up for success, through his thorough preparation and attention to detail that ensure construction runs smoothly.

Backed by experience, vast industry knowledge and a work ethic to boot, he’s your go-to man for your next new home build or extension. When he’s not on the tools or in the office delivering exceptional results for his clients, Bryce is a staunch sportsman, having been part of sporting teams all his life.
